10 October 2016 - Primary ITO
The industry training organisation for the primary sector, Primary ITO, is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Chief Executive - Dr Linda Sissons.

Linda has been interim CEO for Primary ITO over the last three months, and after a comprehensive selection process, has been appointed to lead the organisation moving forward.

Linda has an extensive background in the education sector. Her previous roles include Deputy Chief Executive of The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, and Chief Executive of Wellington Institute of Technology for 15 years. Other experience includes serving a number of Ministerial Advisory Bodies, and she is currently Chair of the Commonwealth of Learning. Linda’s recent primary industry experience includes her role as Chief Executive of Taratahi Agricultural Training Centre, and leading a project to develop the agriculture portfolio of Massey University.

“We were really pleased with the high calibre of applicants for the role, which showed the incredible passion of people in the education and primary sectors,” says Mark Darrow, Primary ITO Chairman.

“The Board were delighted to appoint Linda to the CEO role, given the excellent work already done in such a short period of time and the strong relationships she has established with staff and stakeholders. Her experience and acumen will be valued as the organisation sets about delivering on the ambitious goals we have set,” Mark concludes.
